The Future of Publishers and Writers
by
Robin Stienberg
May 29th 2012, Tuesday - Publishers and Writers had been in discussion among various book festivals such as Asian Festival of Children's Content and around the World. Book stores have fallen one by one due to the raise of rent prices and inflation. Electronic and Digital formats are now fast growing demand in the markets according to souces with over an increase of 400% in sales annually on the global scale.
Only emerging economies such as Cambodia, India and Africa where places are beyond reach of the digital age are still enjoying the fruit of a print version copy and it will do so in many more decades.
The question many ask - Will Digital print overtake tranditional print versions? Will physical books exsist? The answer is very clear upon the survey among countries like rurals areas in the world which is about over 4.5 Billion people do not have access to the internet and over 3 Billion do not have television sets and over 1 billion do not have radio. And over 76% of those we've surveryed in 25 countries including Singapore prefer to have both version in print and digital as from May 15th 2012 results.
Stangely, almost 80% of the world's popultaion including the rural areas will own at least one book in their own language which tells us that there's hope for publishers and authors.
Over 68% of parents in parts of Asia including Singapore says that Childrens books are just too expensive to afford and therefore they would rather go for a sale at supermarkets such as Carrefour.
Can anything be done on the case of affordable books for Children? The Answer - Publishers said that it is looking into the cost and will be introducing new ways to better enable for the masses to afford.
In the coming decades, books will be translated to as much as 500 languges around the world for basic learning and religon as well as for children. More content will be exposed from the West and Asia such as the United States, Australia, India, Israel, Singapore and China will be providing the expertise it needs to meet the evergrowing demand.
And the National Critics Choice just recieve the latest update on "How much demand it takes to meet the fast growing baby boomers in the coming decades when it hits 10 billion!" It needs at least over 500 new titles per month to meet the demand for Children between the ages of 1 - 17.
So the question lies - Will there be a population explosion of children that will out grow the silver age? The answer is Yes, there will be. According to the reports the National Critics Choice recieved from parts of China, Indonesia, Africa, Middle East and other under developed nations almost everyhoushold will have no less then 10 chidren and that is 2012 as from April report.
Governments and NGO's are now working hard to meet demands of the evergrowing population in meeting the education needs such as reading, housing and food security.
The future remains bright for Publishers and Authors, and it is only on their part that they must choose if making a decent profit is just or a question of how much more is enough?

April 2nd 2012, Singapore - It's a great weekend to have in Singapore to say goodbye March 2012 and Hello April fools day this year! Great Music Festival Rock and Roots takes place along side with Savour! Singapore's newest and voted the best new gourmet food outdoor festival. In total, over just three days, Singapore witness 25,000 music and food lovers in a same venue shoulder to shoulder. But what's next? Organizers are facing the challanges with venue and talent worldwide as the global demands for more entertainment due to economic pressures as well as land rentals have been increasing by the local state owners. The question still remains, will it suffer the same fate as the former event like WOMAD, 3DX, Screen Singapore & LIVE Singapore? Can premuim events really sustain in a small Island state on its own? According to experts and experience Industry event organizers over 80% have confirm that the only way a great event can sustain on its own for a long term is export to the world. And that has been proven by Success Resouces, World Gourmet Summit & Singapore Exhibition Services. Soon to follow is Beerfest staging beer festivals in Asia and Europe.
